Laptop shows no sign of life; no lights
appear when power supply is plugged in
with the main battery removed. DIAGNOSIS:
Either the external or internal power
supply is faulty

SYMPTOM 2: Laptop
doesn't power on when the power
button/switch is switched on - power led
light lights up and not much else happens
- screen does not light up. Most likely
problem is either motherboard or processor
fault. We prepare a preliminary report for
£30.
Typical cost to repair a
motherboard is £103+vat….. For such work
there is 75% success rate.

SYMPTOM 3: Screen
appears very dim - can vaguely make out
the image or cannot see anything on the
screen as the system is switched on.

FOR YOUR
LONG TERM BENEFIT: Whilst we have a laptop
open, we often notice that the cooling
fan, heat extractors, keyboard or some key
components are clogged up with fluffs.
Other concerns include grease marks on TFT
screens etc. If unattended it could lead
to major expense later on. Unless
instructed not to do so by the customer,
we will carry out this work and make a
nominal charge for the cleaning agent
used, typical:
